Regarded as Newcastle’s real estate matriarch, Sonia Walkom’s knowledge of the city’s property market is second-to-none, founded on half a century of family heritage in real estate. Sonia’s distinguished career is peppered with industry accolades, and stretches back more than 40 years since she first sold ‘a little house in Stockton’ using a sign out the front and an ad in the paper. In 2007 Sonia won the Hunter Business Women’s Network Hall
of Fame award.
Sonia knows how to match the right buyer with the right property, a skill that has helped countless clients achieve just the result they wanted. Sonia lists Newcastle’s highest-priced property, an executive residence on The Hill that sold for $7 million, amongst her many success stories. Word has travelled, with most of Sonia’s business generated by referrals, reflecting the high regard in which she is held.
Sonia specialises in executive residences and apartment project marketing in and around inner city Newcastle, where she lives. Sonia is a foundation member of the Hunter Medical Research Institute and is passionate about helping those in need, being a long-time fundraiser and supporter of several local charities.
